Obituary of Doris J. Hille
Doris J. Hille, 89, passed away at 8:40 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2015, at home with her four daughters by her side. She was the daughter of the late Prentice L. and Velma (Lackey) Wearly. She married the love of her life, Glenn B. Hille on May 20, 1951 in Huntington, Ind. Doris was a graduate of Huntington High School and the Methodist School of Nursing in Indianapolis. She retired as an RN from Lutheran Hospital in 1986. Floating for many years and retiring from the 7th floor. She was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church and then Waynedale United Methodist Church. She participated in the Women Circles, Red Hats, cancer pads and many other activities and committees. She enjoyed traveling and camping. She visited all 50 states, enjoyed cruises that went to the Caribbean. She took tours overseas and her favorite tour was to the Holy Lands. She loved to read and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Marcia Hille, Nadine (Arthur) Putt, Anita (David) Steinbacher all of Fort Wayne, and Colleen (Michael) Niederholtmeyer of Kaukauna, Wis.; also 12 grandchildren, Nickolaus (Breana) Conrady of Aurora, Colo., Drew Conrady, Scott (Mercedes) Putt, Janell Poling, Allison Richmond, John and Megan Steinbacher all of Fort Wayne, Amy (Drew) Niederholtmeyer-Hunt of Vancouver, Wash., Adam, Amanda, Alexander and Annalise Niederholtmeyer all of Kaukauna, Wis.; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn B. Hille in August of 1999; her parents, Prentice L. and Velma Wearly; and her brother, John W. Wearly in June 2015. "The family wishes to thank DaVita Dialysis at Southgate for the care and compassion they gave her in her year and half of running on dialysis. We would like to thank Dr. Gilbert, the CIC nurses at Lutheran Hospital and Amy with Hospice for making out mother's end of life easier." Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at Waynedale United Methodist Church, 2501 Church Street, Fort Wayne, (IN 46809) with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, (IN 46809). Burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials to the Kidney Foundation or Waynedale United Methodist Church.
