She is survived by her children, Steve (Jan) Davis, Kay (Mark) Byerley, Amy (Scott) Bowser, Pat (Mike) Wissel, Greg (Liz) Davis and Barb (Ron) Carpenter; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Doris Peters and sister, LaVonne Chalk.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her spouses, Robert Davis and Harold Buckenmeyer.
A visitation will be at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E Wallen Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46825, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, with a Funeral Mass to begin at 12:00 pm. Burial will take place at a later date at Highland Park Cemetery.
Dorothy was not one for grand gestures, but she made ordinary days better with her kindness and goodness. “What can I do to help” was always a part of her vocabulary. And help she did! Our family is so blessed. She impacted all of our lives through all generations.
Preferred memorials may be made in memory of Dorothy to Huntertown Family Park.
