

Dorothy J. Eubank, 87, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 21, 1923 to the late Harley and Lena (Cooper) Williams in Lima, OH. She worked as a homemaker, was involved with Child Evangelism Fellowship and was a long time member of Avalon Missionary Church, and also attended Waynedale Baptist Church and First Baptist Church. She held memberships at Mary Penrose Wayne Chapter of NSDAR and First Families of Tuscarawas Co., OH. Before marriage, she worked in the national office of the Christian Business and Professional Women of America after serving as a missionary with Youth Home Missions. She attended Fort Wayne Bible Institute for two years and was engaged to missionary Eldon Hunter of New Tribes Mission until his death in 1944 in Bolivia at the hands of the indigenous people, as chronicled in the book, God Planted Five Seeds. She later met and married Richard Eubank of Wabash, IN , to whom she was married for 58 years. Surviving relatives include her children; Linda C. (James) Bartlett of Ft. Wayne, Claudia Y. (Stanley) Patton of Fort Wayne, Rev. Geoffrey L. (Pamela Padgett) Eubank of Pandora, OH; 9 grandchildren and 5 (with 2 more on the way) great grandchildren; her sisters Joan (Orton) Gilpin of Fort Wayne and Nancy (Nolan) Jones of Columbus Grove, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband , Richard C. Eubank (died June 14, 2007), sisters Sharon Rose Williams and Martha Nungester and son-in-law Thomas (Linda) Schindler.
A funeral service will be 2 pm Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home, Ft. Wayne with calling one hour prior. Calling hours will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Ft. Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Voice of the Martyrs or New Tribes Mission.
