Dorothy I. (Howe) Garcia, 85, passed away on June 21, 2013 at home with family. She was born December 10, 1927 in Mason, Michigan, to the late Ray and Amanda Howe. Ms. Garcia retired from St. Joseph Hospital as a Nurse’s Aide. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, bingo, and special family time. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Albert; her daughters, Diana, Gloria and Linda Perez; brother, Robert Howe; and sister, Loretta Howe-Wade. Surviving are her sons, Albert, Jr., David, and Alphonso; daughters, Alberta and Vicki Garcia, Sandra Chacon, Nancy Kadlec and Denise Davis, all of Ft. Wayne; 38 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; brothers, Joe, Loren, Ray, Jr., and James; sister Alice Hulsebos. The family would like to give special thanks to friend and caregiver Arnette Wilson. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Ft. Wayne, IN, 46809, with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the family.
