Douglas Allen Alles, 72, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023. Born on January 10, 1951, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Herbert and Anna Mae (Maas) Alles. He loved hearing about his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and spending time with them. Doug had many dear friends who he loved spending time sharing stories. He loved fishing, White Sox Baseball, and IU Basketball.
He is survived by his siblings, Larry (Pat) Alles, of Columbia City, Beverly Rectenwald, of Fort Wayne, Renee (Tony) Reid, of Haviland, Ohio, and Julie (Sam) Landis, of Columbia City; sisters-in-law, Becky Alles, of Milford, and Mary Jo Alles, of Columbia City; and brother-in-law, Rick Krom, of Albion. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Krom; and brothers, Ted Alles, and Frank Alles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, 9989 S State Rd. 9, Columbia City, Fr. Dale Bauman, officiating. Funeral dinner to follow at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 315 S Line St, Columbia City, Calling will also be held from 2 to 5pm, Sunday, July 9, 2023, at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project.
