

Edward Martin Abramovich, 84, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at his home in Fort Wayne, Indiana, surrounded by family. He was born August 8, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Peter and Barbara Abramovich.
Edward graduated from Chicago Vocational High School in 1955 and later served as a member of the Illinois National Guard. He worked in Quality Control at Acme Steel, which later became Illinois Tool, for 45 years. Edward and his wife raised their two daughters in Lansing, Illinois, where they lived for 38 years. In retirement, they moved to Lowell, Indiana in 2004, and then to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 2019.
In Edward's younger years, he found joy in activities such as golf, skiing and fishing. In his later years, he enjoyed traveling and tinkering with mechanics and repairs of all kinds.
His greatest joy was spending time with his daughters, his grandchildren and his extended family.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Theresa Abramovich; daughters, Carolyn (Darren) Waggoner of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Kathleen (Rajer) Shah of Western Springs, Illinois; sister, Florence Thompson of Summerfield, Florida; and grandchildren, Hailey and Justin Shah and Anna Waggoner. In addition to Edward's parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Balchunas; and a brother, Peter Abramovich.
Private services will be held at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne. Visitation will be Monday, July 18, 2022 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. He will be laid to rest at Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne.
