I met Ed at a jazz joint in 1997, the year I turned 50. He was a teacher in a sense and I learned so much from him about jazz and the early years of jazz in the 1950's in New York. He told it so you could almost feel like you were there with him sitting in the cheap seats to hear the jazz greats of that era. I will always remember Ed. He was a man who knew how to just chill and let the problems of the day just slip on away.

It's been many years since I've seen you, Ed, my thoughts and prayers are with your family tonight. You were one of the nicest people I ever knew. Being a bus driver for Fort Wayne Community Schools was one of the best jobs I ever had, mainly because of people like you, sir. Enjoy your journey in heaven.

To the McCarrol Family:

You have my sympathy. I worked with ED at South Transportation and he was the kindest and most understanding person. He was a great dispatcher. I will always remember him. Sharon (Jones) Friend - Muncie, Ind

Oh your dad was the best dispatcher we have had at FWCS. He had a great sense of humor when times got stressful, for all of us. He would say or guide us through it all. I have several fond and funny memories of times he personally helped me with. He lead a very full life. I loved to take sometime to just visit him when he had a minute and he would share stories of his life to me. He had a very fullfiling time here with us all.
