With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of our mother Eileen Zumbrun, who took her final bow surrounded by her loving family on September 14, 2026, at the age of 97. From the humble beginnings of the great depression, Eileen built a life defined by church, family and friends. She was a loving mother, sister, daughter, wife and grandmother.
Eileen is survived by her sons Michael Zumbrun of Syracuse, IN, Charles Zumbrun of Atlanta, GA, daughters Kathryn Rose of Merritt Island, FL and Karen Hughes of Ft. Wayne IN. Eileen was also blessed with 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Eileen was a devout Christian and longtime member of Beacon Heights Church of the Brethren in Ft Wayne, IN. She was an avid fan of Indiana basketball and enjoyed watching professional tennis, golf and Westerns. She enjoyed bowling in her earlier days and was an outstanding lady golfer at Pine Valley Golf Club in Ft. Wayne, IN winning the ladies club championship several years. She especially liked playing bridge with her circle of lady friends.
She was married to the late Gene Zumbrun until his passing in 1981. She later wed the late Clair Wilson until his death in 2011.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation one hour prior.
