Elizabeth "Betty" K. Wolf

Elizabeth (Betty) K. Wolf, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Towne House Care Center, Fort Wayne. Betty was born in Noblesville, IN to the late Harry & Kathryn Jones of Indianapolis. She was graduated from Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis and IU Bloomington. While a student there, she worked for B. F. Skinner typing academic papers and books. She married Donald R. Wolf enjoying 66 years of wedded bliss and together raised four children. Betty was an active member of Trinity English Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years, was a member of the hand bell choir, and served as the head of the altar guild. She was an active member of an Extension Homemakers club, the PEO sisterhood, and DAR. Interests included domestic and world travel especially to mountainous regions where she and Don enjoyed hiking and backpacking. She enjoyed swimming, gardening, baking and all aspects of home making. Betty was an accomplished seamstress, pianist, and needle-worker. She taught piano lessons to all her children and many others. She stitched sacred paraments and choir pew cushion covers as part of the 150th anniversary celebration of Trinity English Lutheran Church. In later years she read news weekly for Northeast Indiana Radio Service (NEIRRS), a service dedicated to serving the sight impaired. Betty is survived by sons Larry (Barb) Wolf of Avilla, Steve (Jeannine) Wolf of Loudon, TN, daughters Linda (Ken) Pendleton of Indianapolis, Jenny (Harvey) Gist of Novi. Michigan. She is also survived by grandchildren Doug (Brynn) Wolf of Morristown. TN, Jeff (Debbie) Gist, Matt Gist of Auburn, AL, Janet (Keith) Ramick, of Overland Park, KS and and great-grandson Ryan Gist of Livonia, MI.

Funeral services will be held Fri. 1:30 P.M. February 6, 2015 Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Wayne St. Chapel where friends may call Fri. 10 A.M. – 12 P.M. and 1 P.M. – 1:30 P.M. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Trinity English Lutheran Church, or the PEO Foundation.
