Elizabeth Ann Sheets

Elizabeth Ann (Beth) Sheets, 88, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. She was born November 9, 1936, in Rushville, Indiana, daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Brecheisen) Rehme. If you knew her, she was yours. Her love of people, endless curiosity, and brilliance made her an incredible educator. A particular passion of hers was educating young people about the Holocaust. She collaborated with others to write a curriculum that was used by many. She worked as a teacher in the Fort Wayne area, having worked at Franke Park Elementary School, Arlington Elementary School, Miami Middle School, and then retiring from Memorial Park Middle School. Beth was the piano-playing member of the Retro Revival Band and New Horizons Band. She loved spending time with family and friends in any activity, especially meeting for meals. That allowed her to make new friends everywhere she went. Surviving are her daughters, Sarah (Kris) Beutel and Julie (Brian Headings) Beutel; grandchildren, Ben Beutel, Joe (Yair Sade) Beutel, Jordan Beutel, and Amy Headings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Franklin Sheets in 1988; sister, Janet Newhouse; and brother, Dick Rehme. A celebration of Beth's life will be held on November 23, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at The Landmark Centre, 6222 Ellison Rd, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804.
