ELIZABETH LOUISE THURBER, 86, of Fort Wayne, died on Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at her residence. Born July 31, 1923, in Indianapolis, she was the dau-ghter of the late Blanchard Day, Sr. and Lelia Owen Parkhurst. She was a homemaker, a former member of Christ United Methodist Church on McKinney Avenue, and a member of the Ladies Auxilary Fleet Reserve Association 348. She is survived by sons, David M. (Judy) Thurber, of Ft Myers, FL; Dennis M. Thurber and Drew M. (Kim) Thurber, all of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her brother, Eugene (Peggy) Day of Fort Wayne; and sister, Joan Nancy Cummings of Fort Wayne. She was also preceded by her husband, Marcellus Wayne Thurber; two brothers, Marion L. Day and Blanchard Day; and two sisters, Martha Davis and Jacqueline Gulley. Memorial service is 1 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2010, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, with visitation one hour prior.
