Eloise Coretha (Plasterer) Frushour, 88, passed away at home early Sunday morning February 23, 2020. Eloise was born April 25, 1931 in Fairmount, Indiana, the daughter of the late John E. Plasterer and Carrie E. (Kibbey) Plasterer.
She grew up on the family farm outside Fairmount with her parents and two younger brothers. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1949 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and a Master’s degree from Ball State University. Always a teacher and a student, later in life she went back to school and earned an Associate’s degree in accounting at Indiana Purdue University.
Eloise married Addis L. Frushour on August 7, 1955 in Matthews, Indiana. She was a school teacher in Middlebury, IN and then a homemaker and mother of five children. She taught Home Economics at Bishop Dwenger High School and was also a substitute teacher for many years.
Eloise was a longtime active member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, which she and her family joined in 1972.
Eloise loved the sunshine and being outdoors surrounded by her beautiful flowers. Some of her favorite things to do were traveling, reading, music, sewing, baking and making Jelly and Jam for her friends and family. She also loved puzzles, popcorn, Sudoku, coffee and ice water and keeping up to date with the newspaper and the weather.
Eloise was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and sister and cousin. She always put others needs before her own and was a great role model. She is a lasting influence to all who knew her. Eloise was not one to sit around; she was a doer. She was humble, honest, hardworking, thoughtful and genuine. Eloise is our Rock. She will live on in our hearts and our thoughts for the rest of our lives.
Those who remain to honor her memory include: her husband of over 64 years Addis “Al” Frushour, children Cara (Mike) Thompson, Apex, NC, Laurel Frushour, North Hollywood, CA, Michael (Barb) Frushour, Frisco, TX, Sam (Krenda) Frushour, Hawthorn Woods, IL, David Frushour, Fort Wayne, IN, her brother Keith, (Sue) Plasterer, Madison, WI, grandchildren Amy (Oz), Holly (Josh), Logan, Larinda, Danny, Hayley, Elijah, Eric and one great granddaughter, Lena Eloise. Also cousins, nieces and nephews.
