To the Alter Clan- I was very shaken and deeply saddened to hear of Elsie's passing. She was by far my favorite Aunt. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word to say. I will surely miss sitting and chatting with her. Oh if I could only hear her whispering voice just one more time! My God be with you in your time of need.

To Maury and all of Elsie's children, family and friends we send our heartfelt condolences. Sometimes it's hard to know what to say except to let you know you are all in our prayers. God bless you all and keep Elsie's memories forever in your hearts.

We could never understand why you left God's Country to go back to Indiana. We remember all the stories you shared laughing about your mom and nine brothers, so we understand and hope all those wonderful memories comfort you now. So you know we are thinking of you girl and miss ya.

My sympathy to Aunt Elsie's children. She was a sweet lady and always seemed to be laughing. I remember when she lived with us on Chestnut Street when she was a young woman and I was a little kid. Our prayers are wih all of you.

I have been thinking of you and your family as you deal with this terrible loss. May the wonderful memories of your mom and the strength of your family help you in the days to come. Please give my best to your brothers and I am sorry I will not be there tomorrow to give you the big hug I feel like we all need during these times.
Your friend always,

Beautiful garden now stand alone, missing the one who nurtured it. But now Elsie is gone, Her flower will still bloom and the sun it still shines, But the rain is like tear drops still left behind, And the weeds lay waiting to take the gardens beauty away, But the beautiful memories of its keeper are in our hearts to stay, Elsie loved every flower even some that where weeds, So much Elsie would plant with each little seed, But just like her flower Elsie was a part of Gods plan, So when it was her time he reached down his hand, He looked through the gardens searching for the best, Thats when he found Elise, it was her time to rest, It was hard for those who loved her, to just let her go, But God has a spot in his garden, that he need a gentle soul, So when you start missing Elsie, remember if you just wait, When God has a spot in his garden, She'll meet you at the gate.

God Bless you Aunt Elsie! I still have the "Elsie the Cow" cookie jar that you gave to my mom many years ago. I'm sure my dad, your brother Byron (Jim), was happy to greet you when you arrived in heaven.
