Elwood “Woody” M. Eme, 77, of Hudson, Indiana, passed away in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Thursday, September 1, 2022, surrounded by his family. Born on April 28, 1945, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Donald B. and Anna M. (Hahn) Eme.
Woody was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Hudson, and retired in 2006 from the Dana Corp, after more than 35 years of service as a Mechanical Engineer. He was a graduate of the United States Military Academy in West Point, and was a decorated Army Ranger in the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his children, Joshua (Danielle) Eme of Fort Wayne, Erin (Brad) Bullerman of Monroeville, and Nicole (Joshua) Campbell of Fairview Park, Ohio; siblings, Elaine (Phil) Smock, and Eric (Laura) Eme; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Woody was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Helen J. Eme.
A funeral service to honor Woody's life will be held at 1:30pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 10275 E 550 S, Hudson, Indiana, with calling one hour prior. A calling will also be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne. He will be laid to rest at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hudson, Indiana.
