E. RUTH RYAN, 72, of Fort Wayne, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, Dec. 27, 2010. "She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend." She was a huge Colts fan and loved shopping and chocolate, but most of all she loved her family. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She retired from Fort Wayne Community Schools where she worked with special needs children. Surviving are her five children, Teresa (Robert) Jonak, Pam (Richard) Thornton, Pat (Tina) Ryan, Mike (Cindy) Ryan, and Dan (Savannah) Ryan; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Cooper and Kate Gebhart. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Herb; and mother, Kathleen Bickford. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Thursday at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N.
