Erna R Schwartz

Erna “Dutch” (Meyer) Schwartz, 92, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2021 in Fort Wayne, IN with her family by her side. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the youngest of three sisters, and daughter of the late Ferdinand and Frieda Meyer. Erna was a 1946 graduate of Concordia Lutheran High School. She lived most of her life in the Leo/Grabill area, and then was a resident of Huntertown the last twenty years prior to moving to the Towne House. She had been a bookkeeper/office manager at GE and later at Schwartz Ford Auto in Grabill, until raising her children as a homemaker. She enjoyed volunteering at Bethesda Lutheran Church’s school and lunch program, Parkview volunteer (1000 hrs), and Fort Wayne Girls State school. She was a long-time member of the Cedar Creek Woman’s Club. She was a member of Our Hope Lutheran Church in Huntertown. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Arthur W. Schwartz, Sr., sister Martha Arnold, and daughter Tracy Ann. She is survived by her sister Rose (William) Fennig in Portland, children, Amy (Bruce) Kemery in Goshen, Arthur W (Nancy) Schwartz, Jr. in Upland CA, Allen M. Schwartz in Fort Wayne, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service is 10:00 am Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Our Hope Lutheran Church, 1826 Trinity Dr. Huntertown, IN with visitation one hour prior to the service. Visitation also from 1:00pm to 3:00pm and 5:00pm to 7:00pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne. Burial in Leo Memorial Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to Bethesda or American Cancer Society.
