Esther E. Weeks

ESTHER E. WEEKS, 87, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at her home in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Esther attended North Side High School. She worked with General Electric for 38 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Elex Club and Quarter Century Club at General Electric. She enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, sewing, and animals. She had a great sense of humor and was quite generous to many different organizations throughout the years. Surviving are her daughters, Judy (Daniel Perry) Jasso of South San Francisco, Calif. and Sherri (Dan) Spieth of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Shawnie Benedetti, Alberto Jasso, Anastasia Blauvelt, Terrilynn Hughes and Carrie Heck; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill Burkhalter and Norman Burkhalter both of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Carrie Burkhalter; husband, Richard Weeks; and daughter, Karen Sue Heck. Service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue with calling one hour prior. Visitation also from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at the funeral home. Entombment in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
