Evelyn Barbara Louise (Gregson) Kratzat, 99, died peacefully at her daughter’s home Tuesday, December 22, 2020. She lived at Lutheran Life Villages for almost 22 years in independent living. She was born in Waterloo, IL. She went to Secretary School in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1944, she married Rev. Harold Kratzat, they were married for 51 years. They traveled the world together until he passed away in 1995, with their last stop at The Great Wall of China. Then she travelled with her daughter until she was 91. She loved music, taught piano, sang in Church choirs, and played handbells. She loved to read, work crossword puzzles, and quilt. She is survived by four children, John (Janet) Kratzat of Fort Wayne, James (Linda) Kratzat of Roanoke, IN, Peter (Lobunza) Kratzat of Durham, NC, and Martha (Terry) Hoeppner of New Haven. She also has 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
