Francis Huston

Francis Huston, 93, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born on August 26, 1928 in Winchester, Indiana, he was the son of the late Fay and Beatrice (nee Harmon) Huston.

Francis attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and graduated from the School of Pharmacy. He then went on to serve as a Lieutenant in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict as Assistant Medical Platoon Leader. Upon return from Korea, Francis worked as a Registered Pharmacist, and eventually owned and operated Huston Lakeside Pharmacy in Fort Wayne. After selling the drug store, he continued to work part time at other local pharmacies until he fully retired in 2008. Francis was a longtime member of the National Association of Retail Druggists. During the course of his career, he participated in the effort to provide the oral polio vaccine to the community when it first became available. Francis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cared deeply for his family.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Huston; daughters, Roxanne Huston (Bethany Robinson) of Cincinnati, OH, and Denise (Mark) Firestine of Hillsdale, MI; grandson, Patrick Firestine; great-granddaughter, Madison Firestine; former wife, Barbara Huston; and sister-in-law, Sheri Huston;l as well as many nephews and a niece. Additional survivors include step-daughters, Linda (Jim) Kratzat and Karen (Jeff) Lothamer; step-son, Doug (Beckie) Kettelkamp; and six step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Gary Huston, and Dale Huston and his wife, Ann Huston, step-mother, Doris French Huston; and step-daughter, Julie Cote.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation or formal services.
