
Francis (Frank) L. Sieh, 90, passed away on February 13, 2011 at Hospice Home. He was born on April 22, 1920 in Aberdeen, S.D. and was the son of Frank L. Sieh, Sr. and Neva (Brady) Sieh. He graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1937 and attended Northern State Teacher's College, the University of Minnesota, St John's in Collegeville, Minnesota, and obtained a M.S.W. from St. Louis University in 1955. He served in a variety of social work positions in South Dakota and was instrumental in the founding of Catholic Social Services in Sioux Falls, S.D. He married Joyce Lindsay in 1972 and moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to serve at the director of Family and Children Services. In 1975, he and Joyce moved to Fort Wayne where he served as the executive director of Family and Children's Services until he retired in 1983. Frank was an active community volunteer; he became a Master Gardener and volunteered a the Lawton Park greenhouse, delivered groceries to the homebound for the Community Harvest Food Bank and assisted individuals in need through the St Vincent de Paul Society at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Frank enjoyed many years of Spanish classes at the Community Center and was an avid chess player. He is survived by his wife Joyce, and children James (Carol Rogers) Lindsay of Fort Wayne, Mary Lindsay (Bill) Cotey of Libertyville, IL, and Kristen Lindsay (Joe) Rajchel of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Alison Cotey, of Denver, CO, Matthew (Stephanie) Cotey, of Chicago, IL, Tom Cotey, of Libertyville, IL, Elizabeth Lindsay, of Bloomington, NI and Meredith Lindsay, Jamison Lindsay and Mary Lindsay Rajchel, all of Fort Wayne; sister, Penelope (Sieh) de Hueck, of Aberdeen, S.D., and fourteen nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Neva Sieh, brother, James Sieh, and nephew Peter de Hueck. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Anne Home and Hospice Home for the wonderful care and support. Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00am Saturday, February 19, 2011 at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Rd. with calling 1 hr prior with Fr. James Shafer officiating. Burial in St Joseph Cemetery, Roanoke. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Visiting Nurse and Hospice, St Anne Home and Family and Children's Services.
