Fred B. Stolte

Fred worked at ESARC workshop from 1973 until he retired in 2008. He then attended Easter Seals ARC day programs and volunteered in the community at The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo and Kingston Care where he is loved by many.

Fred is known for excellent memory and math skills. His mapping skills and sense of direction were always a help to others. His own calendar of future and past dates of events and appointments were easily expressed. What day of the week was Christmas in 1989? He would answer, “Monday”. His friends, ARC staff and family often relied on his accuracy. The motto Fred lived by “Do not worry about it, it’s in the past. Let’s live in the new and present”.

Surviving are his sister Carol Stolte Spallone of Fort Wayne, IN; brother, Thomas Stolte of Louisville, KY; four nephews, Nicholas, Ivan, Ben and Kyle Stolte and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Aleksander W. Taulbee.

Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes 1140 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, IN. A graveside committal service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Eel River Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at the funeral home.
