Frederick "Fred" W. Domrow

Frederick (Fred) W. Domrow , 92, Ft. Wayne, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018 at The Towne House Retirement Center in Fort Wayne. He was born in Minonk, Illinois to the late Paul and Minnie (Durre) Domrow, Sr. and grew up in Blue Island, Illinois. Fred served his country during WW II and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Fred received his Bachelor's degree from Capital University, Columbus, Ohio and his Masters of Education Degree from Indiana State University. He taught music in Edon, Ohio, Ligonier and Tipton, Indiana. He then came to Ft. Wayne and taught 6th grade with Fort Wayne Community Schools. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Stephen Ministries. Frederick loved to travel and the Chicago Cubs. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Joan (McCammon) Domrow; son, Brian Domrow of Fort Wayne; brother, Paul (Eileen) Domrow,Jr. of Fort Wayne; sister, Ruth (Conrad) Lubs of Michigan City. Fred was preceded in death by son, Greg. Funeral service is 2:00pm Monday, July 30, 2018, with calling one hour prior, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 3705 S Anthony Blvd Ft Wayne, Rev. Jeff Geisler officiating. Calling also Sunday, July 29, 2018, 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Rd. Ft Wayne.
