Gary J. Cook, 67, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016. Born on October 28, 1948, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Joe B. and Coy M. Cook. A member of St. James Lutheran Church, New Haven and served as a lay worship leader; he retired from both Coca-Cola, after 30 years of service and Delta Airlines, after six years of service. He is survived by his wife, Donna J. Cook; brothers, Lee A. (Jeannette) Cook and Lynn R. Cook; sister, Linda (Roman) Koroncevieius; five nephews, two nieces, three great-nephews, three great-nieces and several cousins; his beloved schnauzer, Schatzi, his joy and comforter. He was also preceded in death by his son, Noel Patrick.
A Celebration of Gary’s Life will be held at 10:30am, Friday, October 28, at St. James Lutheran Church, 1720 State Road 930 East, New Haven, with calling from 9am until time of service. Inurnment will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to the Associated Churches Food Bank or Visiting Nurse Hospice.
