Gary Robert Mallory

Born January 14, 1942 in Circleville, Ohio, Gary was the son of the late Robert and Margaret (List) Mallory. He pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and built a career marked by diligence and steady leadership, serving as a Tax Director.

Gary was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bobbie, who passed on October 26, 2021. Their life together was a source of deep devotion, and his love for Bobbie and for his grandchildren remained a defining constant—unmistakable in the way he spoke of them and the pride he carried for his family.

He is survived by his children: Ryan (Stephanie) Mallory, Kelly (Stephanie Somers) DeRango, and Keith (Jennifer) Mallory; and by his grandchildren: Anna, Sophia, James, Evan, Leah, Alicia, Michael, and Rachel. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Connie Mallory. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his brothers, Larry Mallory and Rick Mallory.

Gary will be remembered for a lively mind and a steady sense of fairness—an independent thinker who paid attention to the world around him and held strong convictions while remaining accepting of others. He enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre, and he brought a quick wit to the table along with a gift for practical jokes and storytelling. He also loved cars and sports, and he found time for golf—where, by his own familiar pattern, he was more likely to find a bunker than the green. Above all, Gary loved people, and those who knew him best will remember the warmth behind his humor and the sincerity beneath his easy conversation.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, a connection that reflected his appreciation for fellowship and community.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation will occur, and he will be laid to rest next to his wife in Stevens Point, WI.
