Gary Alan Swing

Gary Alan Swing, 64, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, surrounded by family. He was born October 25, 1961, to Max and Wilma (Roth) Swing. Gary grew up in Fort Wayne and graduated from Homestead High School in 1980.

Gary was a hardworking man who took pride in helping others. Most recently, he served his community through customer service at The UPS Store, where his friendly nature and willingness to help left a lasting impression on those around him.

He appreciated the simple joys in life, taking pride in lawn care, gardening, and detailing his truck. He enjoyed the Indianapolis Colts and NASCAR. He also knew how to have fun, bringing energy to special occasions with his love of singing, music, and dancing—especially when it was time for the Electric Slide. His sense of humor, hardworking spirit, and love for family and friends will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Gary is survived by his daughters, Meagon (David) Badger and Brandy (Chris) Kumfer; his grandchildren, Logan, Oliver, Agnes, Amelia, and Beatrice; his mother, Wilma Swing; his siblings, Ronda Swing, Kevin (Sheila Smith) Swing, Shari (Keith) Park, Jason (Mary) Swing; and many nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Max Swing, and his brother, Brian Swing.

Friends and family are welcome to gather for visitation from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, on Friday, June 26, 2026 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804.

A funeral service to honor Gary’s life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 11:00 am, with a visitation starting at 10:00 am until time of service at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes- Covington Knolls, burial immediately following in Covington Memorial Gardens.

Guests are encouraged to wear navy blue or red as a tribute to his life, personality, and his favorite colors.
