As a teenager growing up, Gary instilled  a sense of peace and comfort in me.  His way of listening and sharing the love of "OUR LORD" helped me become more aware of who I really was.  His compassion and understanding  strengthen me in my desires in becoming more aware as a young man growing up in "Spanish Harlem."  I remember the group sessions and being able to share my fears and doubts about myself.  He always  listened with compassion and never judged me/us.

Rest in peace Brother Gary from the YDI gang of 110th. street 

This is us the "group" Gary had worked with for many years , while Camp Director at the YDI, I also worked for Gary at the Colorado Outbound School. Gary would be greatly missed as a mentor, coach, eager and most important an aspiration to loving life and its wonderments of God.  

WOW, so sorry to hear about Gary, I met Gary while he is was social worker in Spanish Harlem,NYC.  He recruited us to work at YDI. where he was camp director. I also had the opportunity to work for Gary at the Colorado Outward Bound school. My years of knowing Gary, had changed my life of the better, gaining a deeper understanding what faith meant, loving life and enjoying what God had to offer. His sense of wonderment, joy and commitment to improving the human condition  was a testament to someone that comes once in a life time. I will surely miss Gary as a mentor, teacher coach and most of all, the leader I would aspire to be. 

Thank you Gary for al the memories, time and experiences.
