

He was born on August 5, 1949, to George and Lois Ensley in Fort Wayne, IN. He attended South Side High School, graduating in 1967. He entered IUPU College in Fort Wayne and later served in the Army as an MP from 1971-1973.
In July of 1977 Bob, while at the Sands Supper club, asked a young lady to dance, and they began dating shortly afterwards. On July 23, 1983, Bob married his dance partner and loving wife Linda Reeb. The couple made their home in Woodburn, IN where they raised numerous dogs as their family, including Zoe, Sissy, Susie Q, and Tia. In his last days Bob told Linda that she was welcome to purchase one more.
Bob worked at McCormick Music for several years before joining Johnson Brothers Distributing. He oversaw the local warehouse for over 25 years before retiring.
Bob and Linda enjoyed traveling including yearly trips to Myrtle Beach with family and friends. In the last 5 years they enjoyed camping with their motor home which allowed them to take their dogs with them.
Bob was an avid Yankee fan from youth till his final days. He was typically seen wearing his Yankee cap and his car could easily be identified with his Yankee license plate. He also enjoyed Indiana Hoosier basketball as well as NFL football.
He also enjoyed being around family, never missing family reunions and attending great nephew and nieces’ events.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, brother, Ron Ensley (Debbie) of Owatonna, MN, brother-in law Bob Scherschel, four nephews, and several great nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Lois and sister, Pam Scherschel.
Bob’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Linda’s sister Penny and her husband Roger and her brother Vernon for all the help they provided Bob and Linda in the last six months. Also thank you to the Parkview Hospice staff for their care.
There will be a gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life on Thursday, October 12 with visitation at 10 am and service 11 am, with a meal served afterwards at Woodburn Missionary Church, 5108 Bull Rapids Rd., Woodburn, IN 46797. Pastor Steve Webster and Pastor Greg Zern will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors, SPCA, or Woodburn Missionary Church.
