George T. Wright, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, while surrounded by family. He was born on June 2, 1932, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of the late George and Bessie (Stringfellow) Wright.
After graduating from Central High School, George enlisted in the United States Navy, and served during the Korean War. He will be remembered for his dedication and service to his country from 1951 to 1956.
After returning from serving his country, George went on to have employment opportunities such as Wright Lithograph, Tuthill, and Hydra Tech, where he retired in 1996.
George enjoyed many interests outside of his professional life, including woodworking, where he crafted beautiful pieces that his family will treasure forever. George also liked tinkering, cooking, browsing the internet, and especially enjoyed researching genealogy.
George is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Delores Wright of Fort Wayne; son, William Wright also of Fort Wayne; step daughters, Deanna (William) Hill of Fort Wayne, Lisa Eggers of Fort Wayne; step son, Timothy Patton of Callahan, Florida; granddaughters, Kari Wright of Fort Wayne, Jennifer Wright of Katy, TX, Sara Wright of Fort Wayne; Amber Keller of Kokomo, Indiana; Brittany Hill of Fort Wayne; and Alexandria Dover, of Rome, Georgia.
Preceded by George are his parents, George and Bessie; his first wife Gloria Wright; sister, Francis Kalko; son, Robert Wright; and his beloved dog, Bridget.
A graveside service for George will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 2:30 pm at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Rescue Mission of Fort Wayne, Salvation Army, or Shepherds House.
