Georgia Ann (Schuelein) Rieck, 87, of Fort Wayne, died Monday, July 27, 2026, at Lutheran Life Villages. Born September 19, 1938, in Enid, OK, she was the daughter of the late Robert G. Schuelein and Myrtle (Wilmot). Georgia had an adventurous childhood due to her father’s job, living in over 20 places around the country before the age of 20. In the summer of 1959, she married Harold A. Rieck and moved to Fort Wayne, IN, where she lived for the next 67 years. Georgia was a woman of great faith in Jesus. Her primary vocation was caring for others as a wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother. Through the years she also held jobs as a waitress, pre-school aid, clothing retailer, and antique dealer. Georgia loved to volunteer, serving in many roles as a long-time member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and at Lutheran Life Villages, until just months before her death.
Surviving are her son, Steven (Julia) Rieck of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter, Pamala (David) Zins of Prairie du Sac, WI; son, Michael (Marlene) Rieck of Eagle River, WI.; her sister Shirley (Schuelein) Simpson; seven grandchildren: Kami Rieck, Joshua Zins, Anna (Abdul) Kabeer, Sarah Zins, Daniel Zins, Steven Rieck, and Amanda Rieck (Fiancé Adam Urban); several brothers- and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Georgia was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Harold A. Rieck; her sister Sherran (Schuelein) Fenker, and many in-laws.
Funeral service is Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 11:00 am at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 917 W. Jefferson St., Pastor Thomas Eggold officiating, with calling one hour before the service. Calling will also be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, August 7th, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819. Burial in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
