

Gerald Lee Staub, 80, of Hoagland, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born on January 2, 1942, in Decatur, Indiana, he was a son of the late Louis and Mary (Lengerich) Hildegarde-Staub.
Gerald was a member of St. Joseph Hessen Cassel Catholic Church, Fort Wayne. He proudly served his country in the Army, and retired from Dana Corp in 2001, after more than 35 years of service as a machine operator.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Marie Whitacre-Staub; sons, Brian Staub, and Mark Staub; step-children, Jeff Whitacre, Matthew (Beth) Whitacre, and Kathy Koselke; five step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Ann (Patrick) Lengerich, and Jean (Don) Lehman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda S. (Grim) Staub, in 2005; second wife, Judy Butler, in 2013; and brothers, James Staub, Thomas Staub.
A Mass of Christian Burial to honor Gerald's life and legacy will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Saint Joseph Hessen Cassel Catholic Church, 11337 US-27, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. A calling will also be held on Monday, November 21, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm, at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave, Fort Wayne, with a Rosary service at 3:30 pm. He will be laid to rest at Saint Joseph Hessen Cassel Catholic Church Cemetery.
