She was born on June 25, 1947, in San Carlos, Negros Occidental, Philippines, to Guillermo Urmeneta and Lourdes Aguilar. Throughout her life, she was known for faith, her devotion to her family, love for her friends and her fun nature. She loved to dance, sing, travel and use her hands to grow beautiful gardens.
She spent most of her working years at Nestle and Central Soya in administration. In her personal and professional life she was thoughtful, incredibly organized, and always three steps ahead. If there was a plan to be made or a detail to remember, she was on it and if she gave you a task, you could count on a gentle reminder, followed by another reminder, and then one more just to make sure it actually got done.
She especially loved being driven around by her granddaughters to go shopping. Daily conversations checking on friends and family and blowing kisses to end video chats. She cherished times with longtime friends during prayer gatherings and of course bingo.
She leaves behind a large and loving family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She is survived by her daughters, Gemma (Trent) McClendon and Cynthia (John) Hayes; her granddaughters, Jamie King, Maxine King, and Amerie McClendon; and her sisters, Lourdes (Ricardo) Fabio of Orange County, California, Delores Macaraeg, and Elizabeth (Baby) Racoma of the Philippines.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roberto Buenconsejo, and her parents. Though deeply missed, the love she poured into her family will continue to live on through each of them.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Monday, October 5, 2026, at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation one hour prior.
Visitation also Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm with a Rosary being held at 7:30 pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46825.
