

Gregory L. "Greg" Myers, 85, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026. Greg was born on January 10, 1941, in Wabash, Indiana, a son of the late Lawrence E. and Pauline (Helminger) Myers. Greg graduated from Wabash High School and in 1963 earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Indiana University, where he met and fell in love with his wife, Barbara Macy. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this year.
Although Greg grew up in a small town, his career took him to both the West Coast and East Coast before he briefly lived in Akron, Ohio. He joined Wayne Metal Products in Markle, Indiana, where he eventually became a co-owner, ultimately settling just 45 miles from where they began.
He was a long-time member of Aldersgate United Methodist, Fort Wayne, where he served as chairman of both the Staff-Parish Relations Committee and Board of Trustees. He was also a member of the Old Crown Brass Band, New Haven Alumni Band, and Community Band. In his free time, he enjoyed water skiing, scuba diving, flying airplanes, woodworking, and gardening. He and his family also enjoyed spending time in their second home on Lake Cumberland.
Surviving family include his wife, Barb Myers; sons, Patrick (Angela) Myers and Barry (Lisa) Myers; grandchildren, Michelle, Michael (Maddy), Melissa, Madeline, and Mark Myers; sister-in-law, Patsy Myers; and nephews, Brian and Jeff Myers. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his brother, John Stanley "Stan" Myers.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. A funeral service celebrating Greg's life will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2417 Getz Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Tom Ream officiating. Greg's final resting place will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
Memorials in his name may be made to the Old Crown Brass Band, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, or Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
