I am very heartbroken to hear of Greg’s passing. Greg and I were friends at South Side and I always enjoyed bumping into him at the Courthouse or on the streets of downtown. We always had pleasant conversations when we saw each other and he brightened my day. May you rest in peace and my prayers and thoughts to Greg’s family.

Greg and I have known each other since we were little. We lived in the same neighborhood, Went to the same schools, South Calhoun Elementary, Geyer and South Side. I live next door where he grew up and his Mom and Dad lived until their passing ( I sure do miss them, I think of them alot), When Greg would stop by their house, he always said Hi and we would talk and have some laugh's. Greg was a good person with a big heart. Spread those wings and fly high my Friend. Give your Mom and Dad a big Hug from me! To the Family, you all are in my Thoughts and Prayers! God Bless

Greg and I were friends since our earliest Jr HS days (Ben Geyer). I would pick him up at his house each day and we would walk to school together.

Our friendship continued through South Side High School. We shared a love of history and politics and spent 4 years together on the HS Speech team. I was so happy for him when he was accepted to Northwestern.

While I left Ft Wayne in 1982, I was humbled when traveling through the City in the early 90s, during my time with Senator Lugar, we ran into Greg at the Hilton hotel. He not only recognized me first (he never forgot a face), but we also got some time catch up and renew our political discussions.

Greg and I were in the senior play at South Side high school; he was my husband in the play. Until then, I had never really talked to him, and found that he was a kind, articulate, and very funny guy. I enjoyed his company. He got along with everybody! If I remember correctly, I think on at least one occasion we carpooled with Allen Cavender to Chicago for college (Greg at Northwestern and Allen and I at Wheaton). We also celebrated birthdays just three days apart. He was one of the good ones.
