H. Stuart Trainer, 91, passed away August 27, 2026. For almost 50 years, along with his parents and brother, they served the community through Trainer Service Center in Waynedale. He then enjoyed working in the shop of Brake Materials & Parts for 21 years. In his teens he participated in Boy Scouts and was the1953 class president at Elmhurst H.S. After high school, his involvement with Oddfellows led to joining the Waynedale Masonic Lodge #739 in 1957 and eventually the Scottish Rite. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Dean and Doris Trainer, and brother David Trainer. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sarah “Sue” Trainer; son, Mark; daughter, Ann (Arthur) Sanford; grandson, Erik (Kristen) Sanford; and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Waynedale United Methodist Church with a Masonic service at 1:00 pm, and funeral service at 1:30 pm. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne immediately following service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Waynedale United Methodist Church, where he ushered for over 50 years, or Shriners Children’s Hospital.
