

Haley Ilene Chaplin, 37, passed away on June 12, 2025, at Community Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on May 25, 1988, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Haley graduated from Northrop High School in 2007. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in Fort Wayne in 2011 and a second bachelor’s degree from Volunteer State Community College in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2014.
Haley most recently was a Senior Clinical Project Manager at ACM Medical Laboratories, following time as a Clinical Liaison and Respiratory Therapist for several hospitals.
Haley was a radiant soul, whose greatest joy was found in the company of family and friends, bringing them together with her infectious spirit. Her unconditional love for everyone, especially her pups Gucci and Maui, was a guiding light. Haley’s passion for cinema, particularly the thrill of scary movies, was matched only by her love for culinary adventures. Haley reveled in the laughter of comedy shows and the energy of concerts, and she was a master at orchestrating memorable social events. Her hobbies, from working out and shopping to traveling and crafting, reflected her unique style and creativity. Haley's warmth, laughter, and zest for life left a lasting mark on all who had the privilege of crossing her path.
Haley is survived by her loving husband, Mark Chaplin, of Indianapolis, Indiana; her mother, Cindy Greaf and stepfather Doug, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; her father, Mike Shelby, and stepmother Kathy, of Nashville, Tennessee; her sister, Erica Subler; her nieces, Isabel and Amelia, and her nephew, Henry, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; her half-brother, Jake Shelby, of Nashville, Tennessee; her step-sisters, Jennifer Scott Brandt, of Denver, Colorado, and Amber Baker and her husband Eric, of Huntertown, Indiana; and her step-brother, Jacob Greaf and his wife Jessica, of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
A visitation service will be from 4:00-8:00 pm on Friday, June 20, 2025, at D.O. McComb and Sons -Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804. A funeral service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Taylor Chapel Church, 10145 Maysville Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation one hour prior.
