Helen R. (Knafel, Lehner) Applegate passed away peacefully December 1st, 2018. She was born May 13th, 1927, the sixth of seven children of Arthur and Elsie (Ennen) Knafel of Albion, Indiana. She resided at Georgetowne Place, Fort Wayne, Indiana, living independently for the last seven years where she thrived and enjoyed her many friends. She previously made her home near Albion, Indiana as the devoted wife of Wayne E. Applegate for 35 years. He preceded her in death on February 24th, 2010.
Surviving are her children, Renee (Daniel) Hollenbeck, Fort Wayne, Denny (Rita) Lehner of LaGrange, and Debra Belshaw of Maineville, Ohio as well as seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren who knew her affectionately as Helen-the-Great.
There will be no funeral services according to her wishes.
