

HELEN P. DeLANCEY, 90, of Fort Wayne, would like to announce that "the Good Lord has finally reached down, took my hand and led me to my Heavenly Paradise". He came on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at her home. Born Dec. 4, 1923, she was a daughter of the late George and Helene Zeimmer. She was an accomplished seamstress for Montgomery Wards, Bachrach and after retiring, she provided alteration services out of her home. She attended Arcola United Methodist Church. She was an avid rock-hound for many years. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, playing her marimba and making people laugh. She loved life and her family. She is survived by her children, Nancy (Jim) Winebrenner and William DeLancey; grandchildren, Cristi (Tom) Schieferstein, Julie (Rigel) Grigsbe, Michael (Shauna) DeLancey; and great-grandchildren, Autumn and Cobi Schieferstein, Mathew and Nicholas DeLancey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin G. DeLancey; brother, George Zeimmer; and sister, Opal Zeimmer. A Celebration of Life service is 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at Klaehn, Fahl, & Melton Funeral Home, Wayne Street Chapel, 420 W. Wayne St., Fort Wayne (IN 46802), with visitation one hour prior.
