
Helen Catherine Goshorn (Guysinger), 101 years old, passed away on Friday September 29th at St. Anne's Nursing Home in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on December 19, 1921, in Paulding, Ohio.
Helen was a remarkable woman who lived a fulfilling life. She was a gifted seamstress, knitter and avid reader. Helen took great pride in her sewing skills and made many of her own clothes. She even crafted the beautiful bridal dresses for family members. Her knitting prowess was well-known, she would often buy her yarn abroad on trips. Helen's love for reading was insatiable, and she was thrilled with the large print books from the library. She would read as many as 5 a week.
An adventurous soul, Helen loved to ski and made annual trips to Aspen Colorado, with her 6 kids. Up until 80 she also loved to cross country ski in the parks in Fort Wayne. Helen was a member and past President of the Fort Wayne Women's Club. She meticulously planned group trips all over the world for the club. The family has thousands of pictures documenting her travels. No names but beautiful scenery.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Arrangements are being handled by Advantage-Highland Park Funeral Home at 2403 Wallen Road in Fort Wayne. As she wished, there would be no funeral. The burial will be in Ossian.
Helen Catherine Goshorn will be deeply missed by those who knew her. Her legacy of love, creativity, and adventure will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
