Helen I. Johns, 94, of Columbia City, passed away on Monday Feb. 27, 2017 at Millers at Oak Pointe. Born June 13, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Lovina Cook. She is survived by her daughters, Eileen (Dave) Platz and Betty Lou (David) Brayton; son, Keith (Kris) Johns; sister, Donna Brindle; four grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of over 71 years, Lyle Johns; son, Steven Johns; grandchildren, Christopher Brayton, Mark Brayton and Kevin Clyne and nine siblings.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at C.M. Sloan and Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial at Prairie Grove Cemetery. The Family requests memorials can be made out directly to an organization of the donor’s choice in Helen John’s name.
