Helen Joyce Repka

She was the beloved wife of the late Lionel J. Repka, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage. Devoted mother of David (Kristin) Repka, of Fort Wayne, IN, and the late Ronald (Sharon) Repka, of Chicago, IL.

Adoring grandmother of Jonathan (Nicole) Repka, of Chicago, IL, Steven Repka, of Fort Wayne, IN, the late Brian Repka, and great grandmother of Wesley Repka and Nel Repka, of Chicago, IL.

Helen, daughter of the late Hans Bolte and Eva Bolte, was born in Edmonton, Alberta. She was the sister of the late Gerda Boake of Red Deer, Alberta, and the late Joan (William) Palliser of Burnaby, British Columbia. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Helen and Lionel settled in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the place where they made their family home and dedicated the best of themselves to their two sons and the greater community they both loved.

Helen and Lionel also loved spending their winters in Arizona, a place that became a second home for them and their family with many years of fun memories and happy Christmases with their children and grandchildren.

Helen’s professional career included her longtime service as a radiology technician in Canada and Fort Wayne. She was also an avid tennis player, and a golfer in her younger years.

Helen developed as a prolific artist in her later years, known especially for her talents in creating soft, beautiful botanical watercolors on canvas and greeting cards.

She had a natural way of showing kindness to all those around her. Helen was also a woman of deep faith, and for many years devoted her time as a Bible Study Leader.

Helen also directed support for many years to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, a local non-profit organization that has walked alongside individuals and families facing cancer. Memorials may be made to this beneficial organization.

Helen’s life will be remembered fondly by all those who knew her - for her love of life and family, kindness, strength, compassion, and generosity.
