

Helen Edrie Scott, 96, of Indianapolis, formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015. Born April 1, 1918, she was a graduate of the Fort Wayne Art School class of 1935 and one of the first women artists in Fort Wayne. She was a member of ABWA, Eastern Star, and Altrusa International Inc. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Surviving family include her children, Gregory Gaar Scott of Indianapolis, who is retired from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and is a local poet and artist, Holly Fay Dailey, a retired artist from Houston, Texas, and Gayle Lynn (Douglas) Clark a retired art teacher from Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Travis (Christie) and Diana Clark; and a great-grandson, Ryker Clark. She was preceded in passing by her husband, Max G Scott. A memorial gathering is 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, with a gathering of friends and family starting at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Indiana Mental Health Association.
