HENRY SANDERS, 77, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015, at his home. Prior to relocating to Las Vegas, he was employed with the Fort Wayne Police Department where he advanced from Patrolman to Sergeant to Deputy Chief. He was currently employed by Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Surviving are two sisters, Sarah Russell-Barron and Bertha Jane (John) James; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Maggie Sanders; and two brothers, Walter and Willie Sanders. Service is 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, with calling from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, at Ellis Funeral Home. Interment in Lindenwood Cemetery.
