

Reverend Herbert Almo Jr. was born on April 1, 1946 in Silver City, Mississippi, to Mr. Herbert Almo Sr. and Mrs. Cora Lee Almo (Davis). Reverend Herbert Almo Jr. grew up in Silver City, Mississippi, until moving to Jackson, Mississippi, where he attended and graduated high school. He later relocated in 1969 to Flint, Michigan, where he was employed as a machine operator for thirty years with General Motors. Reverend Herbert Almo Jr. was raised in the fear and admonition of the Lord from a young boy and accepted the Lord as his personal Savior in 1976 under the leadership of Pastor Lee of First Corinthian Baptist Church of Flint, Michigan. He later in life moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he set under the capable leadership of Pastor Rush Sr. in 1981 and later Pastor Rush Jr. of Prevailing Faith Fellowship.
While working for General Motors, Reverend Almo Jr. met the apple of his eye, his loving wife Earnestine Robinson. He married the love of his life in 1976, after which they built a wonderful Christian life begetting seven children: Ophelia, Raymond, Christopher, Tammy, Lisa, Hebert III, and Cassandra. Mr. and Mrs. Almo later moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, where they worked in the ministry faithfully, raised their children, cherished their grandchildren and great grandchildren until Reverend Herbert Almo Jr. received a higher call to glory.
Reverend Herbert Almo Jr. leaves to cherish his loving memory his beloved wife Earnestine Almo of Fort Wayne, Indiana; his children Ophelia Carter, Raymond Farmer, Christopher Swift, Tammy Farmer, Lisa Almo, Herbert Almo III, and Cassandra Almo all of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He also leaves to cherish his memory three brothers Willie (Theresa) Davis of Detroit, Michigan, Joe (Marietta) White, William (Shelia) Davis; two sisters Josephine (Roscoe) Morris, Lessie (James) Jackson all of Flint, Michigan, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews who loved him and will cherish his memory. Reverend Herbert Almo Jr. is preceded in death by his father Hebert Almo Sr., mother Cora Lee Davis, grandson Austin Almo, granddaughter Alonna Almo, stepfather Reverend Otha Davis, sister Mary Fleming, maternal grandmother Josephine White and maternal Uncle Rev. James White Jr.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Prevailing Faith Fellowship at 4020 Lynfield Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46816, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
