Horace Lee Jr.

At the young age of 11, Jr. relocated to Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1965. During his time there, he attended Job Corps, where he developed essential life skills and began laying the foundation for the man he would become.

Shortly thereafter, Jr. discovered a passion for boxing and became involved with the Golden Gloves. He was proud of his boxing days and loved telling stories about his experiences. Those stories became a special part of who Jr. was and are memories that his loved ones will carry with them forever.

Around 1974, Jr. made Fort Wayne, Indiana, his home. In his late twenties, he began building a career with General Motors of Fort Wayne, where he proudly worked for more than 10 years.

Jr. was also a proud member of Old Landmark Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Bishop Elton Amos, M.D. His faith and connection to his church were an important part of his life.

Jr. was a man who found joy in the simple things. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially while sitting on his front porch. Whether sharing stories, laughing, singing, talking, or simply enjoying the company of those around him, Jr. created memories that will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

On September 1, 2026, Horace Lee Jr. took his final breath at Lutheran Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones.

Though his earthly journey has ended, his legacy continues through the people he loved, the memories he created, and the stories that will be told for generations to come.

THOSE LEFT TO CHERISH HIS MEMORY

Jr. leaves to cherish his precious memory, his one and only daughter, Canidance (Cur’Wan) Lee; his three grandchildren, Janarion Moore, Ma’Kaylla Lee, and Ge’No Morris; his five sisters, Birdie (Willie) McIntosh, Bonnie ( Anthony) Gaulden, Abegail Parker, Abbie Amos, and Tynita Lee; his two brothers, Jessie Wright and Solomon Wright, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.

Horace Lee Jr. was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ardee Lee Blevins and Horace Lee Sr.; two brothers, Sammy Burns and Jimmy Wright, and his beautiful nieces, Veronica Wisley and Stacy Parker.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 11:00 am. at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
