Iona Melchi

Born in Berne, Indiana, Iona worked as a nurse with St. Joseph Hospital for 17 years. She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Surviving are her four sons, Ned (Vicki) Melchi of Fishers, Indiana, Rex (Lisa) Melchi of Fort Wayne, Jay (Kerry) Melchi of Fort Wayne, and Max (Beth) Melchi of Fishers, Indiana; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Sarabelle Zeigler of Berne, Indiana.

Iona was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Melchi; parents, Harvey and Rosa Beer; one brother and two sisters.

Service is 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 17, 2017 at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling also Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
