Irma C. Bradtmiller

Irma C. Bradtmiller, 90, of Fort Wayne, passed on peacefully Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Born March27, 1922 in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Selma (Bleich) and Walter Mettler. She raised from early childhood by her father and loving stepmother, Olga (Bleich) Mettler, along with her beloved sisters Mille (Wallace) Bartels and Micky (Richard) Stephens, who survive her. A homemaker who loved tending to her flower gardens, Irma was always happiest surrounded by family and friends. She worked as a part time Teacher's Aid at Merle J. Abbott Elementary School and was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death in 2008 by her devoted husband of 60 years, Ralph Bradtmiller. Surviving are her sons Keith Bradtmiller and partner John Garzelloni and Kraig Bradtmiller; her daughter, Karin (Steve) Anders all of Fort Wayne; two grandchildren, Jason (Tricia) Anders and Jerrod (Brittany) Anders; and four great-grandchildren and caregiver, Lori Askins. Funeral service is 12 noon, Saturday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, with visitation two hours prior. The Rev. Douglas Punke officiating. Burial in St. John's Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Zion Lutheran Church.
