J. Michael O'Hara

J. Michael O'Hara, 90, passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 2, 2018, at the hour of Divine Mercy. He was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on October 25, 1928, the son of the late Dr. Martin Patrick and Fern (Smith) O’Hara. He married Sally Ann Berghoff on November 5, 1955, she preceded him in death on December 25, 2017. Mike received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1950 and his law degree from the University of Michigan in 1953. Mike joined Barrett, Barrett, McNagny attorneys in 1955 and was elected to the American College of Trial Lawyers. He retired from law practice in 1998. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Mike loved gatherings with his family, especially Thanksgivings in Carmel; winters in Vero Beach, Florida and July 4th fireworks. He was an avid golfer and Notre Dame Football fan. Surviving are children, Kathleen (Sandy) Kunkel, Carmel, IN, Kevin (Sue) O'Hara, Charlotte, NC, Michael (Debbie) O'Hara, Ft Wayne, Molly (Ted) Niezer, South Bend and Megan (Tim) Fetter, St. Petersburg, FL; 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am, Monday, December 10, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road with visitation one hour prior, Fr David Voors officiating. Rosary service at 2:30 pm Sunday, with calling from 3 to 5 pm at D O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home 8325 Covington Rd Ft Wayne. Burial Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
