My parents often spoke how Jack's father was instrumental in encouraging my father to start his own plumbing business in 1940. Due to my father's limited knowledge of the English language (he came to the US from Germany in 1925), Orlie personally gave him an oral rather than written examination. My father passed on in 1965 at which time I took over his business.

I worked for Jack at Gasoline Equip. from 1969 to 1973. He was a man of infinite patience to put up with me. I went to school from the 5th grade on with Jack Jr who was and is to this day one of my best friends. I've known the family for over 50 years. I have the greatest respect for his integrity and wisdom. He never did things in haste. The world needs more people like him. I'll always remember him fondly. May he rest in peace.

Jack was one of my favorites to work with. When I was young and new in elective office as County Treasurer, Jack sat on the County Council. He was one of the first to reach out and provide advise and assistance. He was a public servant we all could be proud of. My prayers are with you.
