Jacqueline Chapman

Jacqueline Chapman, 79 of Leo, passed away Monday, September 29, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. She was born in Chicago, IL on August 29, 1935 to the late Ray and Pat Carlson. Jacki was a homemaker, who also volunteered, then worked at Parkview Hospital for 25 years. Her passion was travel, and she worked for Summit City Travel as an agent later in life. Jacki graduated from Elmhurst High School and married the love of her life, Don and settled down in Leo to raise their four children, Raymond (Katrina) of Auburn; Craig (Jodi) of Ft. Wayne; Christy (Tim) Thomas of Naples, FL; and Patti (Steve) Abernathy of Yorba Linda, CA. Jacki loved to read, she loved to discuss politics, she loved to dance, she was passionate about food and football, and she loved to laugh. The family home was always filled with laughter and friends. Jacki is survived in life by her husband, Don, her 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A celebration-of-life will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014, with a calling from 3-4:30 p.m. followed by a brief service at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services 2403 E. Wallen Rd, Ft. Wayne, Indiana 46825. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
