Obituary of Jacqueline Louise Greene
JACQUELINE LOUISE GREENE, 79, of Churubusco, Ind., passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at her home. Born in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Edward C. and Mary Louise (Spon hauer) Mertens. Jacqueline was a Real Estate broker for Greene Reality and worked as a clerk at Magnavox. Jacque said, " I have been fortunate enough to travel throughout America and the world. I have lived in a time when I enjoyed many freedoms that the people of today are gradually losing. These are being lost because of individuals forcing their values and concerns on other people. Our religion and rights are all in jeopardy unless people begin to realize that other people should be allowed choices too. That is what this country was founded for and on. Unless this changes, the people of today are never going to have that opportunity." Jacqueline was Queen Mother of the Scarlett Diva's Red Club, member of the Trumpettes Card Club and The Hands and Foot Card Club. She also loved to karaoke. Surviving are her brother, Edward (Sheila) Mertens; and nieces, Jackie (Billy) Garner, Amber (Mark) Pfeiffer, April (Todd) Holliday, and Autumn (Josh) Lehman; great nieces and great nephews, Camilla, Josh, Isaac, Abigail, Rhenn, Rhya, Birtukan, Raelyn, Gunner, Arrow, Briar, Journee, Annebelle, Olive, and Sawyer; and her beloved dog, Marlee Darlin. She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Gabriel Mertens. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at D.O.
